@fk2891 Defrags are entirely unnecessary and even bad for SSDs because it wastes write cycles and can mess up the disks’ automatic optimization. That’s why it’s a strange benchmark to show speed. How many benchmarks do you know that makes the thing you test slower after the test?
@sirblues I understand that, but defrag is completely unnecessary or even harmful to SSDs, and when the drive is new, there won’t be anything to defrag – just the analysis phase.
Oh wait.. I think I get what you mean. It COULD be a good read test.
@YaDunn0 It’s well known that you don’t do that to a solid state drive, it ears it down faster, its nothing like a HDD, the trim command is used for SSD’s.
