WD 1TB hardrive recovery?
My WD 1TB mybook hard drive was making strange clicking sounds then when next turned on made a loud elect rick ‘Click’ sound and now will not activate. What is the likely problem and how much am i looking at for a data recovery job in
location -melbourne, vic, australia
any chance it could just be the adaptor?

It sounds like the drive is faulty and may have failed.
It’s possible to recover the data on it, but depending on how much data you have on that 1TB drive and how badly damaged it is, the cost of recovery could be rather expensive. I’d recommend doing a Google search on businesses that offer data recovery services in your area, calling them, and getting a quote.

it sounds shot. your hdd has a 3 year warranty on it. if u need recovery dl icare recovery. its easy to use

Your hard drive is toast …. its more than likely something mechanical broke. I have tried to fix a broken hard drive by picking a broke one off ebay and trying to make 1 out of 2. It worked once but the other 2 times didn’t go so well ….. I would suggest looking online for a company that specializes in this kind of stuff …. but dont get your hopes up …. also make SURE that this is the problem ….if you take the drive apart you will defiantly void the warranty

If the drive is making a strange clicking sounds then it’s possible that the head or disks of the drive are damaged, so don’t run drive further, visit your hardware vendor for the physical damage of your hard drive.
